This Would be Funny if it Wasn’t Happening to Me!
How to Embrace Change with Enthusiasm and Vigor

It has been quite a few years since the HBACA has hosted a P.A.S.S. (Purchasing Agents, Suppliers and Subcontractors) event, but we are bringing back this popular program beginning with breakfast at the Southwest Builders Show.  Like Turn the Tables and Sticks & Bricks, the P.A.S.S. Breakfast at the Southwest Builders Show is destined to become one of the HBACA’s most popular annual networking events!  The program is designed to bring builders and trades together in a fun, casual setting that promotes networking, while providing participants with an educational opportunity as well.  This year’s breakfast features Jody Urquhart, a great motivational speaker who will take attendees on a humorous journey, exploring how to embrace change – something we can all use in business these days!

More than a dozen of HBACA’s top builders have already RSVP’d to participate, with their purchasing agents and other executives agreeing to serve as “table hosts” for HBACA’s Associate members – and this is even before the official invitations go out!  The breakfast is open to all HBACA members, with participation being strictly limited to HBACA members.  Seating assignments for Associate members will be made as follows:  First for the event sponsor and HBACA’s Gold ($3,000) members, followed by Silver ($1,500) and then Standard ($750) members, with seating being assigned on a first-come first-served basis within each group.

Networking begins at 7:30 a.m. followed by breakfast at 8:00 a.m.  The price for this special P.A.S.S. Breakfast is $50/person, and attendance is limited to HBACA members.  This is one event you don’t want to miss, so be sure to make your reservations when Show registration opens.

Change can be stressful. Join us as we build a humorously convincing case that resisting change only makes it worse. In this inspiring presentation you will step outside yourself to assess your year because it’s not exactly as you wish it would be. Taking a humorous, objective look at change can help you get a more realistic picture.  Laugh as you confront the absurdity of your work where nothing about your day seems to turn out as you had expected it to. So how do we solve this dilemma? The best way is to laugh at it from another perspective. When you can laugh at something you are in control of your environment and the way you feel. Learn how to adapt and stay flexible in changing times. Don’t survive change; thrive in it.

In this humorous and inspiring session participants will learn:

  • How to bring others kicking and screaming into this century
  • 3 ways to derive strength from change
  • How to use humor to be resilient and in control of your environment
  • To recharge their commitment to their profession
  • To be Stress Savvy and avoid burnout
  • To create excellence through change
  • To feel upbeat versus beaten up
