Meet the Builder Breakfasts |

For Associates who want to become better acquainted with the Valley’s home builders or who are wondering what new builders are members of the association, attending our monthly forum featuring Valley builders who will provide an in-depth look at their company’s past, present and future is a great opportunity. We schedule two builders at each breakfast, one small volume or custom builder and one high production builder. The HBACA continues to support these informative business development events and networking forums geared toward the Associate members to assist in the professional relationships between our members.

General Membership Meetings |

The HBACA’s General Membership Meetings feature a speaker whose topic will be relevant to the home building industry. These breakfast meetings take place 4-5 times per year during months in which we don’t already have a major membership function in place. In addition to featuring some great speakers, the meetings will give HBACA builders and trades another opportunity for networking on a regular basis.

Each year at the Southwest Builders Show, the HBACA holds its annual Kickoff Breakfast. Speakers have ranged from comedians to sports figures, sales professionals to TV celebrities. The event is the perfect blend of useful life lessons and entertainment and a great start to the association's annual tradeshow.

Help the HBACA PAC “Reboot” for the 2010 Elections!
With the Governor’s seat, all 90 Legislators, and numerous county and city posts up for re-election this year – the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona Political Action Committee (HBACA PAC) needs funds to ensure housing-friendly candidates are elected to public office. To help the PAC “reboot” and replenish our campaign accounts, the HBACA PAC invites all HBACA members to join us on Thursday, April 29, for our annual Chairman’s Cup Golf Tournament.
This tournament is hosted by the HBACA PAC each year to thank members of our Chairman’s ($1,000) and President’s ($500) Clubs. In light of these challenging economic times, the PAC will be continuing its “Economic Stimulus Plan” which allows HBACA members to play in the tournament at a reduced rate of $250. Remember, your contribution to the HBACA PAC is an investment in the future of home building!
Please Note: CORPORATE CONTRIBUTIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED!!! Due to a Supreme Court ruling allowing corporate monies to be used for independent campaigns, the PAC this year is accepting both personal and corporate checks to play in the tournament. Corporate checks will be deposited into the HBACA PAC Administrative Fund. All proceeds from tournament fees will be used to support candidates who are friends of our industry.

Sticks & Bricks Golf Tournament |

The HBACA’s annual Sticks & Bricks Tournament is held each year in December. To encourage builder participation and add a little more excitement to the event, we introduced a new format for the 2009 tournament called “Build Your Foursome”. Builders on the HBACA Board of Directors volunteer to be paired randomly with HBACA’s Associate members, and they ask other builders to join them. There is no charge for participating builders. Builders are paired with Associate members in a drawing that takes place in November. Builder pairs may include two top management representatives from the same company, or two from separate companies. Associates are paired with builders on a first come/first served basis, so the earlier you sign up, the bigger the pool of builders will be for you to be randomly paired with.

This year's theme is "Survivor HBACA" in honor of all of us who are doing our absolute best to survive this economy. The Show will be held September 29, 2010 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The Southwest Builders Show is Arizona's largest business-to-business show for builders and building industry suppliers in the Southwest region. Sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona (HBACA), this is a must attend event. This annual show offers cutting edge educational seminars, the largest exhibit floor in Arizona displaying the products your buyers want to have in their homes, and special events geared specifically for the building industry. Your competition is sure to be at the Southwest Builders Show...make sure you are too!

Be sure to attend this annual event to congratulate HBACA’s new officers and directors and show your appreciation for the outgoing officers at the Board Installation Luncheon. Held annually in January, this is the year’s best opportunity to meet the leaders and principals of the industry’s premier builders and honor their commitment to this Association. Speakers have ranged from comedians to sports figures, sales professionals to TV celebrities.

Turn the Tables Business Development Event |

The HBACA’s annual Turn the Tables business development and networking event is a great opportunity for HBACA Associates to meet with fellow Builder members. It is the perfect forum to share any new and upcoming products or services, build new relationships or strengthen existing ones; and discuss business opportunities.
Event Format:
Builders are set up around the room at tables. Each builder company staffs their table with key respresentatives such as the President/CEO, Purchasing Manager, VP of Operations, VP of Construction, VP of Sales and Marketing or VP of Land Acquisition. We typically have 15 to 20 builders at this high-energy, 90-minute event. Associates then have the opportunity to get face-to-face time and exchange business cards with the builders of their choice. Builders have the opportunity to learn more about their fellow members and form new business relationships. Many members claim this is the best 90 minutes they spend all year!

The Sales and Marketing Council (SMC) of the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona hosts this prestigious awards competition that recognizes the exemplary efforts of builders and land developers, interior designers and architects, and sales managers and sales associates who make the home building industry in the Valley one of the nation’s leaders. Awards include best print advertising, best billboard, best ad campaign, best website, best television ad, best radio ad, best design center, best interior merchandising, best floor plan, custom home of the year, rookie of the year, salesperson of the year, community sales team of the year, sales manager of the year, sales and marketing manager / director of the year, administrative team member of the year, construction team member of the year, and the salesperson customer satisfaction award. The MAME Awards Ceremony is an opportunity to showcase your best — your people, your homes, your merchandising and your advertising.
